Tailing Trouble
Nearly everyone loves a good mystery! Murder mystery game kits of various themes with specific plots and characters are perfect for amateur sleuths wanting to host their own interactive murder mystery party with their friends and family.

Tailing Trouble is a murder mystery game company that takes inspiration from the natural world and focuses in on the animal kingdom. This animalistic concept creates a chain system that refers back to the food chain established by the animals of our world. The killer is always on the hunt for their prey, and the detective is on the hunt for the killer. The objective of this project was to create designs for Tailing Trouble's newest murder mystery game kit, The Hunt.

Since the game's story is set in 1949 luxurious dinner party, this poster series is designed to have a vintage style completed with a bold, three dimensional red thread for visual interest. This poster series takes inspiration from famous Old Hollywood approaches at the murder mystery genre while still referring back to the animal concept.
The Hunt: A Murder Mystery Game Kit
The game kit packaging is designed to communicate the playful, yet mysterious, nature of the game. Vintage fonts and textures communicate the game kit's theme while the footprints on the back of the box allow for that animalistic concept to be further conveyed.

Inside Each Kit...
The game makes up two different card decks: The character cards and the weapon cards. The character cards include all of the suspects. All suspects are based on specific animals and represent so in their character make-up. The weapon cards represent the potential murder weapon. Both decks are shuffled and one card from each deck is chosen to go in the case file envelope. Those cards then represent the murderer and murder weapon for the game.
Also included in each game kit are fold-out invitations for all of the guests. The first panel is for event information whereas the following folds give descriptions and backgrounds for each character in the game. The host assigns each guest a character by writing the name of the character on the first panel of the invitation.

Detective notebooks are included for each guest, as well. Similar to Clue, inside each book is a place for case notes. Each clue given away by the conversation rounds will give hints as to who the killer and what the murder weapon is by process of elimination.
