Hot Rods

During the 2023 season, I worked for The Bowling Green Hot Rods as a Graphic Design Intern. My workload consisted of creating social media graphics, video board graphics, print and digital advertisements, flyers, signage, and more. I also assisted with gameday production, where I learned the ins-and-outs of sports
media production.

During my time with the Bowling Green Hot Rods, I gained experience working within visual identity systems, collaborating with multiple people across various departments, and creating enticing designs that represent the Bowling Green Hot Rods in a positive light.

Social Graphics

One component of my workload at the Hot Rods was creating a variety of graphics for our team's social media. These social graphics would include giving out game day information, advertising specialty game day themes, and encouraging fan excitement. I would often adapt my designs to fit across different dimensions for different purposes, whether that be for an Instagram post, a tweet, or a social story.

Countdown Graphics

To encourage fan excitement for the 2023 season, I assisted my graphic design manager with creating graphics that counted the days until to the Hot Rods' opening night at the Bowling Green Ballpark!

Promotional Graphics

These graphics functioned as social media advertisements that promoted our various specialty game day themes that would be held at the Bowling Green Ballpark.

Final Score Graphics

I also designed the final score templates that would be posted to our socials following each game of the season. I adapted the landscape oriented graphic to a portrait orientation version to fit better for social story purposes.

Homestand Preview Graphics

The Homestand Previews were created to give fans a brief insight into what theme days or special events would be held at our home games each week. The template design was created by me and I would often illustrate or design icons that represented each theme.

 Specialty Holiday Graphics

Posting frequently allows for our team to gain more visibility and fan interaction. Therefore, these specialty graphics are designed to keep the audience engaged by keeping content up on our socials.

Print Media

I also designed some print material including: promotional  posters that would be hung near the entrance of the stadium, the 2023 coupon book cover, and the cartoon illustration of our broadcast host, Riley Edwards.

Coupon Book Cover

Since the booklet is printed out to only measure 5.5in. x 3.25in., the design is kept simple while still maintaining the visual system that is used in the Hot Rods brand identity.

Roscoe's Rookies Kid's Club

This poster, hung right outside of the Hiller Kid's Zone, advertises the Hot Rod's Kid's club, Roscoe's Rookies. Since the poster is catered toward children, the design has a much more playful approach to it.

The Voice of the Hot Rods: Riley Edwards

Promoting our broadcast, I assisted with creating this sign that is located just past the front gates of the stadium. The cartoon illustration of our broadcast host, Riley Edwards (aka the Voice of the Hot Rods), was completely illustrated by me.

Videoboard Graphics

I also created graphics that would be displayed on the videoboard during home games. Our PA would do a read regarding that specific announcement, so the graphics were kept very simple as to not overwhelm the viewer.
